  1. DNA analysis (DNA fingerprinting) using gel electrophoresis.
  2. Blood analysis.
  3. Trajectory of projectiles.
  4. Fingerprint analysis.

Here is the background of the event:

The Murder of a School President

Mayhem occurred when the shocking murder of Moncton High School’s President, Jordan Shriver was shot and killed during a school assembly. The Moncton High Crime Scene Investigators quickly went to work. They began observing the scene of the crime immediately, questioning witnesses and listing suspects. The following are the observations and evidence that might help you to understand the case and perhaps crack it yourself. The investigators narrowed the suspects down to 5 individuals: Jesse Middleton, Nader Timani, Natalie Cormier, Ryan Buchanan, and Pokey Azevedo. They found Pokey’s fingerprint on a light fixture on stage, Ryan’s fingerprint in a pool of blood on the podium, Natalie Cormier’s fingerprint on the shell casing, a hair sample on Jordan’s body, and a wool fiber sample attached to the shell casing as well as 6 shoe partials found at the scene. Witnesses made claims such as seeing Nader and Jesse sneaking around the exit doors right before the shooting, Ryan being obsessed with Natalie and earlier on before the assembly Kayla Buchanan claims to have seen Natalie in the side balcony and Ryan Buchanan in the upper balcony “practicing a skit” for the assembly. There was a pool of blood found beside the shell casing, it is believed that the gun backfired and injured the murderer. When obtaining fingerprints from the suspects, Jesse Middleton refused to give a sample. The ballistics specialist determined there was only four possible trajectories: the upper balcony, side balcony, the exit doors and the nearby a light fixture on stage. Last but not least, there was a threatening note found in Jordan’s locker which read;

                    Jordan,

You know what you stole from me. You better give it to me or you will pay the consequence!

                                      Anonymous

Good luck on cracking the case, we hope it won’t be such a brain twister!
