Class of '55 |
3 October 2003
After graduation, in 1956, joined Transport Canada as an air traffic controller. Worked in Toronto, Gander, Halifax, and Moncton. Retired in 1991, and worked as an ATC consultant, post retirement, for ICAO, Price Waterhouse, etc. and even had a stint back with Transport. Got to see a lot of the world after retirement from Transport - all of the West Indies, Rangoon, Jeddah, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Macao. Fully retired for the third time in July of 03. Had the good sense to marry a Nfld girl, whose name is Helen, and have two adult children, one local and one in NYC, and three grandchildren. Attended the 40th reunion and how about a fiftieth? Any interest?
Class of '54 - Grade 13 '55

Graduated in 1955. Married Don McLean in 1958. Moved to B.C. in 1969. My husband and I are both retired now. Wasn't able to get back for the reunion in 1995 but would have loved to have been there. We had two children whoof course are all grown up now, and we have three grandchildren. Was in Moncton for a month in 1998 and would love to be back there for good. There's no place like home!!!! and Moncton will always be home to me.
After graduation, I joined the R.C.A.F. and flew as a pilot, after which I went to the British Royal Air Force for a few years. My wife Joanne, nee London, also from the class of '55 (we were both 12T), and I returned to Canada where I continued in aviation. I retired in 1992 as Regional Director, Aviation Licensing, with the Federal Dept. of Transport. I miss airplanes, but not the office. I organized the first reunion the class of 1955 ever had, in 1995. It was wonderful, and I would like to get as many classmates as possible on the net for future communications.
Married Don McQuinn of 12T and we had an Air Force life in western Canada and England. We have three kids, all into adulthood, and 4 grandchildren. I became an R.N.A. in the early '70s. Don and I, with a few good classmates, got our first class of '55 reunion going in 1995, and it was a great success. We hope there will be more.
