Hi everyone, as you can see I am “back” in Moncton. After moving (16 times in 30 years) from place to place around Canada (Ontario, Nova Scotia and P.E.I.) between 1967-1997, I finally returned to live in the city of my youth. I “accidentally” became a journalist. Worked for the past 35 years as a newspaper reporter, photographer & editor - rose in the ranks of Thomson chain to managing editor, then taught journalism at Holland College, Charlottetown for three years. In 1996, I launched a full-time freelance journalism career. I have a self-syndicated newspaper column that is published in 14 newspapers and do lots of other writing in newspapers and magazines. I am also a genealogy addict, play lots of contract bridge, have traveled a lot. I married in 19! 65! (Secord), divorced in 1987 and remarried in 1995. Have two great kids (age 30 and 28), three grown step-children and six grandchildren.

I went on to study Electrical Engineering at UNB in 1966, graduating BScEE 1971. Married Jeannie Masterton (HTHS 66, B.Sc. UNB 1970) in the summer of 1971. I have two daughters and two sons born 1972 through 1981; they continue to be the essence of my life; wish you could know them! Having worked with heavy electrical industrial equipment during the first 20 years of my career (some 15 years as an operations manager with the Irving Group); I started my own small consulting electrical engineering firm based near Rothesay, NB in 1992 which still keeps me busy and involved with work that I enjoy. I spend as much time as life allows at my lakeside cabin located in a remote wilderness area of Cape Breton Island; a true piece of heaven; a kayaker's paradise! It is there that I am constantly reminded of what a very special place is this planet and life itself.

It is great to find this site. I am retiring in Aug 02 after completing 37 wonderful years in our military. During this time, my wife and I have lived in Rhode Island, California and Egypt not to mention throughout Canada and have three wonderful children of whom we are tremendously proud. Whenever I am in Moncton, I drive by MHS and remember when... As the years whiz by at the speed of light, remembering takes on a whole new meaning. Hope to hear from any old friends.

Left Moncton in 1966 to join the Meteorological Service of Canada, (part
of what is now Environment Canada), retiring in 1996, at which time I was
Manager of Business Information Systems in Toronto. Came out of retirement
in early 1998 to become Executive Director of the Seeds of Hope Foundation,
a non-profit federally registered charitable organization which provides
free computer training to the unemployed. Started up an IT consulting
business in 2000 specializing in charitable organizations. Doing a lot
of volunteer work for various organizations. As for my family...married
Sharon, a native Torontonian and elementary school teacher, in 1969; my
daughter Krista, (b. 1976), is supervisor of e-commerce and loyalty programs
at HBC; and my son Jeff, (b. 1980), will be a Business Administration graduate
this year. Have great memories of my years as one of the "Industialists"
at MHS - attending the fantastic bashes that were our 20th and 30th year
reunions in '84 and '94, respectively. Regrettably missed the 2001 reunion
- but, hope to make the next one!
