Class of '71 |
December 3, 2003
With contributions from five different universities, I FINALLY got my degree. Other than a year in Lake Louise, I have been in Calgary since 1979.I worked in college administration for several years, most recently as a budget analyst. I "retired" for a few years and then returned to university, taking a job with the federal gov't at the same time. Unfortunately, a year later I was diagnosed with stage 4 SLL, an incurable lymphoma. Thanks to lots of chemo, rituxan, operations, and an auto stem cell transplant, I am still here (!!!)and hoping to get back to work & university in a few months. My .sig file follows. Please think about it as many wonderful people have died for lack of a match. I'd love to hear from any of you who remember me! I still think of Mr. Freeborn every time I pick up my clarinet!

I just got married -- actually two months ago to Alison Diane Jones of Palm Harbour, Fla. I know, I know, I know. I'm probably 35 years too late. But I married a wonderful woman. So, I guess the wait was worth it!

I've moved to Montreal, been here for a year and enjoy it. Always look forward to coming home. Over the years, many people have remarked on how much they enjoy Moncton when they visit. Don't think I heard that much in the early 70s ;-)
Very proud of MHS I have one son who graduated from there in 1995 and one who will graduate in 2001. Way to go Purple and White!

I have been married for the last 30 some years and have 3 adult children and I am also a very proud grandmother of 3 beautiful grandchildren. My husband is lucky enough to be retired but I am still working away as a full time Registered Nurse. I would really enjoy hearing from friends that I went to Moncton High School and graduated along the same time span as myself. I am especially seeking an old childhood playmate that I have not seen in years. Her name is Sara Mitton and she also graduated from MHS in the late 60's I believe.

I have been living in St. John’s, Newfoundland since May of 1982 and loving every minute of it. I have two daughters, Jennifer who will be 18 in April (and graduating from Bishop’s College High School), and Gillian who will be 17 in October (and will graduate next year, 2002). The girls spend half of their time with me and half of it with their mother. What brought me to Newfoundland? Of all things, my job brought me over here. At the time I was working for a company that manufactured and serviced a variety of life safety equipment. I am now a post secondary instructor at the Prince Philip Drive Campus College of the North Atlantic in St. John’s (formerly Cabot College). I have been instructing in the School of Information Technology since 1994. Also in 1994, I took up the Amateur Radio hobby and have become very involved with our local club, the Society of Newfoundland Radio Amateurs (SONRA). One exciting project for me is the Internet Radio Linking Project that links local repeaters via the Internet to repeaters all over North America (soon around the world). To give you an example, the IRLP project allows me to use my handheld transceiver to talk to other Amateur Radio operators in places like Vancouver, Hawaii and points in between. We are expecting Australia and Great Britain to come on board with the project sometime in 2001. If you are ever in St. John’s, by all means give me a call. I would be only too glad to hear from you, especially folks who went to Moncton High. 73 de Paul VO1HC
