Just came off the site. So great to see some old names. I'm living in Moncton now, but have travelled quite extensively. I'm really looking forward to our reunion. It should be a hoot. If anybody wants to get in touch, be sure to drop an email. Till later.

Wow! What an interesting site. I missed the 10 year reunion as I was living in the USA, but am looking forward to the 25 year reunion. Haven't seen too many classmates in the last 25 years. Returned to the Moncton area in 1990. Married with two children aged 14 and 12 and spend lots of time in the hockey arenas! Looking forward to July 2004.

After leaving MHS I went on to Dalhousie University for my B.Sc. in Pharmacy. In 1987 with a little help from my friends I opened Wellington Pharmacy Ltd in Wellington, PEI. I married Kyler Bowness also a pharmacist in 1993. We have two children, Grace and Frank.
15 January 2003
After graduating from MHS in 1979, I came to Halifax, and attended the University of Kings College, obtaining a BSc. in 1983 and an BA in 1984. After that, it was off to Fredericton for law school. I received my law degree in 1987. I've been practising corporate and commercial law in Halifax (with Stewart McKelvey Stirling Scales) since 1989.
I've been married since 1988 to a great guy from New Waterford, NS, Bruce Klinger. (We met at Kings.) He has his own business, as an independent arts consultant. We don't have children, but our two cats are well taken care of.
My parents are still living in Moncton, and I visit frequently.
It's great to read everyone else's updates. It's hard to believe that so much time has passed.

Brief update: Carleton University BA in Mass Communication 1983, Athabasca University MBA 2004. Currently director development, marketing & communication at the Canadian Child Care Federation in Ottawa.
Married to Francois Matte in 1996. Groovy son Jean-Luc born January 1999. Enjoying fixing up our little old house here in Ottawa.
Fond memories of MHS. Hilarious memories of our 25-year reunion held in 2004. (What would a Navy Seal do? Hey! Who's under the train bridge?) Oh the cob webs disturbed from the far corners of my mind. Seems like yesterday...
Would like to reconnect with the gentleman who spoke to me about those long walks from Sunny Brae to MHS.... please email if you read this.
Happy to hear from anyone!

Wow, Great to see the familiar names on line. Looking forward to the 25th reunion. Long time since high school. Since graduating, I took the college route and did my TV Broadcasting course in London, Ontario. Worked in Radio for 20 years, traveling to Halifax, Winnipeg, Moncton, Ottawa, Sudbury, and finally to Saint John, when I retired from the media in 1999. I opened, and ran an Entertainment Centre, Bowling Alley, movie theatre, restaurant, pub, etc., from 1999-2001. Now I’m operating my own financial planning company, kind of a small mom and pop operation with 3 employees, and a great list of clients. Love working with nice people. Hate working with Idiots. Still haven’t gotten that patience thing down pat yet..ha ha. On the personal front, I think I win the kids sweepstakes with 5 children ranging from 21 years old to 12. 4 girls and a boy. Kelly and I love living in the Kennebecasis Valley overlooking the River, and about 15 minutes outside of Saint John. Kelly’s working with Aliant in their Sales/Marketing division. (She has the real job in the family). Love to hear from old alumni.
Cheers!

Greetings to MHS alumni from '79.
For those who are interested and remember me:
Graduated NS Institute of Technology Radio Broadcasting Course 1980 (worked as a DJ for 3 1/2 years in Saint John [CHSJ] and Fredericton [now-moribund CFNB];
Attended UNB from 1983 - 1996 [BA, Honours, History];
In an out of UNB Law School (fall of 1996);
In and out of UNB Grad school (1987);
In and out and graduated from, UBC law school (1988-90);
Articled (1991) and called to the BC Bar (1992);
Returned to NB as the "prodigal son," wrote the transfer exam and got called to the NB Bar (1993), and practiced law in Fredericton from 1993-1996);
Returned to BC as the "pertinacious prodigal son" (fall, 1996 to Feb. 2002), and practiced law in Vancouver as a sole practitioner, and then in a couple of firms;
Got married in B.C., 1998 [wife's name, Deanna];
We have two children, (boy, Jonathan and a girl, Hilary);
Returned to Fredericton, N.B., Feb. 2002, to become Clerk of the Court of Queen's Bench, Judicial District of Freddy Beach;
[For those of you who are curious as to what the “Clerk” of the Court does: I am a kind of Registrar, meets Master, tied up in a Justice of the Peace: The Clerk empanels Juries in Criminal Jury trials, conducts assessments of party-and-party bills of costs, presides over debtor examinations in the trial division, acts as court administrator in this person's various functions respecting collection of child support under our Support Enforcement Program, including issuance of all the garnishment/attachment orders and presiding over initial "show cause" hearings by defaulting payors, acts as the Clerk of the Probate Court in issuance of all testamentary letters, and performs civil wedding ceremonies at the Courthouse on Friday afternoons. [I am also responsible for cleaning the windows, emptying the trash, and turning out the lights before I go home.] I am also a Deputy-Registrar for the Court of Queen's Bench and a Deputy-Registrar for the Court of Appeal. [Which means I may preside over solicitor-and-own client taxations of bills of costs, sign the divorce certificates when the Registrar and other "real" Deputy-Registrar are away salmon fishing, as well as clean the Registrar's windows, empty His trash, and turn out His lights. :)]
In reviewing some of the alumni e-mails, I remember Jeff McCready, and as mentioned in his e-mail, a number of the classmates he mentioned (as well as others): Roger Burrell, Kim Bungay, Donna Van Buskirk, Bruce Merrideth, John Lowery, Shelly Doyle, Byron Martin, Sharon Crowther, Brian Gallagher, David Elderkin, and Danny Leger… (really many of whom were Edith Cavell grade 9 music class acquaintances… remember Miss Chiasson and Chess the Phys Ed instructor, as well as kick-the-can at recess? ), [if I had a yearbook and saw faces I would remember so many more…
As for MHS teachers, I too remember poor Mr. Potter (geography) and the near nervous breakdown caused by the penny-pitching in his class. Mr. Hebert, the humorous economics teacher, Miss Sparks (English 101 and 111) (who I had a big crush on, actually) Miss MacNutt (121 English), Mr. Hebert (history), Messrs. Damzell and Coghburn (chemistry), Mr. Guy (math), etc.
(Again, I would remember more names if I could see a picture of their faces)...
All who are interested are welcome to drop me an e-mail missive.
Cheers,
David

Hi, Everyone! We had a great reunion in 2004, and if you weren't there, sorry I missed you!
In October of 2005 I'm heading to Antarctica to work on a US research station down there, just for a big adventure after having the same job in Aspen for the last 10 years. I worked as the office manager for an architectural firm that does amazing work (check out www.billposs.com) - it was a great gig, but time to move on.
I'll be down in Antarctica for 5 months, and then may travel for 1 or 2....if you want to be on my "Antarctic Updates" email list, drop me a note! I'll share the stories with anyone who wants them.
Thanks webmasters, for giving us this forum!

Hi Y'all!
I was hoping to get to the 25 Year reunion but that was not meant to be. I had just accepted a new position in Georgia (A little warmer that Moncton), and was in the midst of moving my family down here.
A little about my family, my wife, Rosemary is from Medford Massachusetts and was born the day before me (read - lots in common). My eldest daughter, Erin was born on April 26, 1993 in Toronto, ON. My second daughter Caitlin was born on June 11, 1995 in Newton Massachusetts and my youngest daughter, Brianna was born on October 25, 1999, also in Newton Massachusetts.
My wife is a stay at home mom, lord knows I could not do that. She is quite the seamstress. She made her own wedding gown and some of the children’s cloths. She enjoys quilting. She is currently creating the window treatments for our new house.
I currently work designing E-Commerce sites and do side work converting old Web systems to take advantage of the newer technologies. While I have not been to Moncton in about 4 years, it still holds an important place in my heart.
FLASHBACK 1979:
Truck to Football game
Shannon on her horse
The Musical Oklahoma
Beauty Pageant
Grease Day
The Dances
Please add your own thoughts:
My only regret was that I only had 1 year with you. I would expect things to quiet down at our age but I guess that is not in the Cards (yet).

Hello Class of '79!
I received my Engineering degree from St. Mary's/TUNS in Halifax, NS in 1984-85, and immediately headed south to Boston to attend grad school and pursue a professional career. I currently practice as an environmental engineer, and have been consulting for over 15 years. I married my wife Dianne in 1988. My son Justin was born in 1991 and my daughter Amanda in 1994. We live in Medford, MA and love summers on Cape Cod and winters in New Hampshire.
I visit Moncton frequently, and always pass by the High School. Good to read about your families and successes. I would be very happy to hear from some of my old classmates.
Does anyone remember the moving truck that took us to the football game??
5 May 2003
Well it has been a while. It took me a couple of tries to locate the new URL. I have not been up to much other that consulting and parenting - Both are full time jobs. I have only kept in touch with a few people from Moncton. On my last visit to Moncton (About two years ago), the downtown area has grown drastically.
I hope that everyone is doing well and we should have a 25 year reunion.

Since graduating from Moncton High, I attended 2yrs at NBCC Moncton and later moved to Halifax/Dartmouth, N.S. I worked in retail a few years and have been working with MTT/Aliant for 18+ years. Since graduating MHS I got married, gave birth to a wonderful son, traveled the world and lived in some that most normal people wouldn't, divorced, went back to university, graduated from college and now I am career stricken. Currently working at Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, which is great since I still love to travel. I still keep in touch with some of my class mates, particularly Diane Richard (Laurita), Shelly Lenahan (Furze) and of course Brian Murray. Would love to hear from some more class mates...! As they said in the ol'days "Keep on Smilin'" and Have a Great Day everyone.

Hard to believe I graduated sooooooooo long ago. After doing six months at NBCC, got into the Insurance Adjusting field and have been doing that for the last 19 years, now working for Plant Hope Adjusters Ltd., here in Moncton. In the last 20 years have been out west in Winnipeg, Saskatoon; home called me back in 1992. Married to my lovely wife Norma and have a 5 year old son Jordan, my reason for being. We have our dream home, here on the water in Shediac. On the side, my brother Rick and I run RS Microsystems, assembly and sales of PCs. Have run into a few of the old gang of '79. Nice to see this website set up....

It's nice to see so many familiar names on this site! It brings back memories!
Somebody asked if we remembered the warehouse van we all piled into to go to the football game! Well, I sure do! I thought we were all going to die due to lack of oxygen. I could see the headlines flashing before me! It seemed to take forever to get there!
Anyway, I’m still teaching in Moncton at Birchmount School. I've been there for 14 years. I was at Hillcrest School for 3 years before that! Hope to see everybody at the reunion this summer! Take care!
16 June 2003
Hi, happened to stumble on this site recently. It's nice to see what everyone has been doing. I left MHS, graduated from Saint Mary's with a BA, then went to Holland College and took Journalism. After working for newspapers in New Glasgow and Dartmouth, I ended up writing and editing for the Halifax Daily News for 15 years. When the fourth kid came along -- like I saw THAT coming in high school?! -- I quit and became a freelance writer so I could work from home. I've been doing that for about seven years, and really enjoy it. We live in Elmsdale, N.S, and don't get to Moncton as often as we should -- my husband Jim is class of '76. Sure miss those sandy beaches and Deluxe french fries!

Hi everyone. Great to see all of the comments from old friends.
After graduation from MHS in 79 I went on to Dalhousie in Halifax and completed my Bachelor of Commerce in 83 followed by my MBA in 84.
Went on to work with in Truro, NS and have stayed with the same company throughout. (Rare event I know) Currently am General Manager of that same company with responsibilities throughout our branch offices in Truro, Montreal and Ottawa as well as an internet venture. Never a dull moment.
Would love to hear from 79 grads. Good Luck to everyone and happy 25th reunion.

Great site - hope more people contribute!
Anyone else out there remember Mr. Potter (geography teacher) and how people used to throw pennies in his class? I also fondly remember Miss Sparks (English 101 and 111) and Miss MacNutt (121 English) and Mr. Evans (history and geography).
So Brian Murphy (fellow '79 grad) is now the Mayor of Moncton - and a good one at that, I think!
Other friends/students I remember (in no particular order): Roger Burrell, Natalie Briand (had lunch with Nat and her husband last year in Toronto), Kim Bungay, Donna Van Buskirk, Bruce Merrideth, John Lowery, Peggy Barks, Shelly Doyle, Byron Martin, Sharon Crowther (she's in Saint Andrews now raising a family and teaching singing - she sang with the Canadian Opera Company for several years - what a voice!)... Would love to hear from any of you guys or anyone else who remembers me.
Me, I've been in Fredericton basically since graduating from MHS in '79. Graduated from UNB in '83 and became a translator with the provincial government, where I've been ever since. Live with my partner of 12 years (Brad) and our two dogs (Samson and Kaiser). We travel quite a bit and are currently planning a trip to the Italian canton of Switzerland (Ticino) this summer.
Ciao!

At Moncton High, my name was George LeBlanc but I have changed my last name to McKinnon for personal reasons. I enjoy the site and recognize many of the names. David Dunsmuir (we were also in grade school at the Cape) Jeff McCredy (UNB) and others. I would enjoy hearing from any of my friends or classmates. I married a Calgarian. We now live in Santa Fe, New Mexico and how we got here is quite a story.

Amazing to see so many names of old friends! My life has become to detailed and complicated to explain in a few short sentences, so I expect some emails if you want an update.
I can tell you that I have three kids, 22, 20 and get this..5. I am now working freelance as an artist and if anyone at school was REALLY my friend, they would have explained in detail what the term "starving artist" really meant. Ha ha.
Look forward to hearing from all of you.

(now if I could just do this somewhere warm.....)
I note that there is another WEB site.. called classmates... I believe it is at www.classmates.com ... it has a lot of MHS students registered... but you gotta pay to get their e-mail addresses etc... in comparing the two sites... this one is much better... my congrats to the designers and administrators...

Great class reunion. It was wonderful to see everyone again.

Hello Fellow Classmates!
I was directed to the site this spring after I registered my three children at Moncton High....yup that's right...we made the big move from Halifax to "home" and the darlings (Sonja, 17, Patrick, 15, Devin, 14) get to attend my alma mater :-)
My news?? Attended Dalhousie, graduated there in '82, and stayed in Halifax to work. Married in '84 to Fred, a native Haligonian in the Navy. He recently retired from the military....and we decided Moncton had more to offer that Halifax. Moved last month...missed Hurricane Juan!!
I've enjoyed all your updates! Looking forward to the reunion...
