After I graduated from MHS, I attended Atlantic Baptist College in Moncton,
where I completed my B.A. (Biblical Studies). Halfway through my first year
there, I was in a motor vehicle accident which left me a paraplegic. In 1985,
I married Diane Ripley (class of '83), who had just completed her nursing program.
Following this, we moved to Massachusetts (just north of Boston), where I continued
my education, first at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity - M.Div.)
and then at Harvard University (Master of Theology - Th.M.). Then we moved back to Moncton,
where I worked for the next 5 years as a Youth Pastor (part-time) and taught Biblical Studies
and History at Atlantic Baptist College (part-time).
During this time, I also became a Dad... Jay was born in 1992 & Abby was born in 1994.
In 1995, we moved to Kingston, ON so I could go to school some more (just couldn't get enough!).
At Queen's University, I completed my M.A. in History and began my Ph.D., which I finished in 2003.
In 1997, we moved back to Moncton, where I became a History professor at Atlantic Baptist University.
I just finished my sixteenth year teaching at ABU, focussing on European history, with a special
emphasis early-modern British history.

Hello-Web is great! It was nice to read snapshot lives of others…to be fair I guess I should type more. I did quite a bit of traveling/hiking - SouthEast Asia and Australia when I had no worries many years ago. Finished Chem.Eng. at TUNS and I've been living/working in T.O. since. Married for 10 (he’s a Vancouverite) and we have a little girl, almost 2 yrs. old. Now I'll be working for eternity - those with kids understand (I’m glad to read that others also have babies in their 40’s). My folks still live in Moncton so we visit quite often. I can't believe how much has changed (for the better) and how good the shopping is!

I
hope everyone had a great time at the reunion. Sorry I never got there to say
Hi.
Greetings all former classmates and teachers, especially Miss Sparks! What have I been up to these past few years? I got my degree in Agriculture, spent most of the following 10 years working overseas - New Zealand, Southern Africa, Albania - supporting community development and sustainable agriculture. I'm now farming with my partner, producing certified organic eggs and vegetables, and am a food issues activist on the side. I'd love to hear from anyone out there from days gone by!

After high school, I went to nursing school, until it was decided that perhaps I should choose another career path. Well, since there’s no life like it, I joined the Military (Air Force) and after my initial training as an Air Weapons System Technician, was posted to Germany for 3 yrs. In Aug. of ‘88, I was posted to Alberta, where I remained until being posted to N.S. It’s great because in less than 3 yrs, I can retire with a full pension, and move back home to build my dream house.

Hi everyone. I can't believe it's been 22 years since we graduated. I know it's still early, but any word on a 25 year reunion? So much has happened since then! It dawned on me recently, that I'm older now than my mother was when we graduated from high school - and I thought she was sooooo old back then.....
After working for 10 years as a corporate travel agent, I returned to school and graduated in 2000 with a BScN. Last year, I left labour & delivery nursing for public health (much better hours). I work in the parent support program and love working with new moms and babies.
After the birth of our son Aaron (Nov. 2002), my husband Terry and I decided to settle in the 'burbs and moved to Whitby. Quite a change from life in Toronto! ...
PS If you get a chance, take Greg MacD up on his offer to show
off pics of his kids - they're very cute!! And, of course, I’ve got
tons of photos of Aaron ...

Have been in Halifax most of the time since graduation - working as an obstetrics nurse for 15 years now. Happy, healthy, etc.

Wow! Its been a while. Amazing how much can happen in your life from 18 to 40. I have been extremely fortunate and am grateful that I had the opportunity to attend MHS and experience the true spirit of high school life. Friends, teammates, parties (especially Beth's). I have been so out of touch with MHS over the past 20+ years. Is Coach Skiffington still roaming the sidelines or has he passed on up to the Hall of Fame?
After graduating I went to Mount A. Graduated in 86 with a BSc. in geology and football (had a small cup of coffee with the Montreal Alouettes on the way to Ontario). I finished off my geological engineering at Queen's (89), MSc. in Civil in 91 @ Queens.
I have put down loose roots in Kingston, ON. and am currently doing environmental engineering consulting.
I am married to my love from Mount A (Shawna - a Caper) and we have 3 children (2 boys, 9 and 6 and a little girl, 3). Our life revolves around the rink in the winter and on the soccer pitch in the summer (not bad actually).
Howdy all: Still in Moncton and probably always will be. I work at Irving Tissue in Dieppe, employed as an industrial mechanic since it opened. Have a wife Roxanne and two kids, Jamie and Lorenne. How about all those west-end grads, eh?
Hi folks. I'm married to Margaret Anne Smith and we have 2 children, Kevin (5 years old) and Maureen (9 months). We've been in Saint John for 4 and a half years. I work for the Atlantic Health Sciences Corporation mostly as the Facility Manager of St. Joseph's Hospital but also as the Region Manager of Pastoral Care (Hospital Chaplains). Margaret Anne teaches English part time at UNB - Saint John and at St. Stephen University.

Wow, has the last 20+ years flown by. I am happily married to Debbie Hines (a Mississauga girl who is a high school math teacher) and we have a couple of big boys, Davis 3yrs and Carter 17mos. I hope they get their Mom's brains. I'd love to show off their pictures to my old friends so let me know where you are.
I still play a bit of basketball and volleyball, but now that summer is here I currently am still involved with Senior Baseball in southern Ontario- some things are too hard to give up. This reminds me of the great friends and teammates with whom I have lost touch since I moved here. I'd love to hear from anyone who played on the 1981 Provincial Championship baseball team or the NBIAA 2nd place basketball team in 1982. I also do some mountain biking so if anyone is ever in the area and wants to ride, the local conservation area is fantastic.
I miss the times we used to hang out on the ramp to the at lunch time. There are way too many things to mention here, but would love to reminisce. I wish I knew then what I know now.

Hello,
Recently I have been feeling nostalgic and wondering what happened to some of the people I went to school with (Nancy Walker, Scott Deware, Jeff Forsythe).
I have lived in Alberta for 18 years (Banff, Jasper, Edmonton). I have managed to finish Theatre School, two undergraduate degrees in psychology and education, and am currently working toward my masters in counselling psychology, hopefully to register in the next 2 years as a chartered psychologist. I am a full time educator/counsellor in a high school, as well as a full time student. I live in Edmonton with my husband Bob, my dog and two cats. Life is pretty good and I wish the same for all of you.
Joyce :)

I spent 9 years in university before coming out with enough sheepskin to wrap around my body.
I'm now in Bundang, South Korea, married to a wonderful woman named Soo-yeoun (a.k.a. Michelle) a piano instructor (going on 3 years), while I'm working as an EFL English Instructor at Kyungwon University. I also work as an Internfaith-Pastoral Counselor in the ex-pat community. Still playing the guitar and singing here and there.
We have a dog named Frodo and enjoy traveling around the world. We'll be home in Moncton this summer (2002). Hoping to sit down at Tim Horton's (Starbucks??) with some of you. Contact me if you would like to nod over coffee.
Take care,
Harpo

Hi everyone, 20 years flies by so fast. Ended up in Florida for a few years and came home with a marketing degree. Married a great guy and now have a gorgeous 13 year old daughter, Caitlin Suzanne named after her beautiful aunt Suzie. I'm happy to say she inherited her namesakes zest for life as well as her extraordinary sense of humour. I can't forget to brag about my beautiful twin boys, Sean & Jesse. Wonderful little people who make me laugh til it hurts. My husband Mike and I work for CN. He's an engineer and I'm in management. Yes, there are a few CN employees left in the greater Moncton area. Our extended family includes 2 dogs, Max & Kaiza (Bouviers), a crazy cat named Bubbalouie, an egg layin' cockateil named Loonie, a budgie named Cloe, and a Hamster named Escobar. I would love to hear from old friends and any news on a 20th reunion.

Hoping to hear from someone about the 25th reunion in 2007. Thought I’d get an early start. Living in Halifax as a therapist and company owner, two little girls. Happy!

Quick synopsis of the last 21 years - married high school sweetheart Tim Parker. We have been married since 1986. We have two wonderful children Kristin (12) and David (10). We live near Hillsborough with 4 horses, 2 cats and 2 dogs.
I protestingly went to university after 1 year of nursing school and completed a BScHE in foods and nutrition. I worked as a nutritionist for 5 years, stayed home for a few years (munchkin farming) and then went to work as a call girl - I worked for UPS and Royal Bank in their call centers for a number of years and then moved into the insurance industry.
About 4 years ago I made a move to get out of the financial services industry and went to work as a supply teacher. I loved it sooo much that I went back to school on a part time/full time basis and completed my BEd in Dec/02. I have been working as a college instructor since then. I love my life!
If there are any old French immersion buddies out there, please contact me - okay Sybill, Patty and Peter? Hint! Hint!

Hi Guys & Girls,
20 years already seems like yesterday. I am still in Moncton , married with 3 kids ( 11 year old daughter & 7 year old twin boys). I am Branch Manager for a local wholesaler. Anyone know when the next reunion is ???
I work as a full time paramedic with the Moncton Ambulance Service and in my spare time I am a volunteer firefighter/paramedic with the Dieppe Fire Department. Married to Claude Richard. Although we have no children yet, we do have three dogs (which in the rest of my spare time I compete in dog shows and obedience trials with).
Hi all. Still here in Moncton, never left. Married to '81 grad Dawn Bateman. We have 2 kids,a girl, Micah almost 6, and a boy, Brook 2.5. I've been working for Shell Aviation for 15 yrs. Love to hear from anyone from way back when!

First off, I'd like to say it sucks to get old. I remember being in high school, looking at people in their 30's and thinking "Man, those people are so OLD". Anyway, I am married to a terrific gal named Sherri (She is from Toronto) and we have 3 kids. We live in a small community between Barrie and Orillia, about an hour north of Toronto. I have been a Bailiff in Toronto since 1989, repossessing cars, trucks, buildings, etc. It's a good living but I don't get many Christmas cards! I started playing guitar again after an 18 year hiatus and I am currently jamming with Larry Newman (Class of '82) every Friday night here in Toronto. Looking forward to seeing many of you at the 25th year reunion.
21 April 2003
I was wondering how long it was going to take to locate everyone via email. Great Idea. After getting my BSc nutrition degree in Halifax (MSVU), I spent a year learning to speak French in France-I really should have listened more in Moncton! Worked for several years at the Diabetes Association before becoming a pharmaceutical representative for a Johnson & Johnson company until 2001. Then I took the plunge and returned to university (God help me!) for a BEd. and will be a teacher in 2004. I married Mike Shaw in 1990, am we are the proud parents of two rottweilers (Thelma and Louise) and love spending time at our cottage in Ecum Secum. Would love to hear from anyone in Halifax, or just visiting.
3 September 2002
I am living in Petawawa, with my wife, Debbie and our 2 kids, Colby (9) and Cassidy (5). I am currently in the Army and posted here in Sunny Petawawa.
I would like to hear from anyone from that great year 1982!!!

Any reunion planned for the "82 Grads?
Earlier Doug wrote:
I didn't get to graduate with the 82 class. My father was in the armed forces and we moved after Grade 10. I recognize a few of the 82 names. I am looking for Rob Trifts or Larry Holwell. I am currently a Naval Weapons Technician in Victoria. I have been in the Military for 15 years.
2 Sept 2003
Hello to all former classmates and a fond hello to Ms. Sparks who remains the one teacher in all my years of public shool who actually made a difference.
I left MHS, spent some time amassing student loans at a significant rate at a couple of universities, got married in 1989 (and UNmarried in 1997).
I am working on the getting married bit again, now that the gravity of the dirty-socks-on-the-floor-thing has been made sufficiently clear.
Along the way, I picked up a law degree at UNB in 1993 and I have practiced litigation in Toronto since that time.
I have 3 great kids, 2 girls from my first marriage and a son from my soon-to-be-second. As my eldest daughter is now turning 14, I have increasingly been reminded of my high school years.
Not surprisingly, with this increasing reflection, I do not sleep as well as I used to. Recalling how I acted in those days, I am considering the purchase of large calibre firearms to gravely show off (at some length) when being introduced to my eldest daughter's boyfriends.
My sole comfort in this is knowing that many of you here will experience similar joys of parenting in the near future. :-)

Hi Everyone,
I thought it was time for an update. Been maried to Joe('81) for almost
18 years now. We have three great kids. Our oldest boy, Taylor
age 16, is entering grade 11 at Rothesay High, our daughter Kelsey is 11
and starting middle school and our youngest boy, Ryan age 10, is in his
last year of elementary school. I'm currently part way through my
second year of the BBA program at UNBSJ. They say it's never too
late and I guess they are right. Aside from feeling like everyone's
Mother, it's been a great experience. I was recently invited to participate
in the co op program due to my high marks and will be out in the workforce
gaining experience in January. Juggling kids and university has sure
been a challenge but everyone is very supportive and proud of Mom.
I wish I had paid more attention to Mr. Chapman in Math class though. Drop
me an email sometime!
