Harold Albert O’Blenes

Died: March 10, 1942, age 20

Moncton’s Harold O’Blenes was a 20 year old Spitfire pilot in No. 131 Squadron stationed in Wales when he crashed into the Officer’s Mess at the Llanbedrog Aerodrome on March 10, 1942. The cause of the crash is not clear, nor did the Times and Transcript’s research find reports of any deaths on the ground from the accident. O’Blenis is buried at the public cemetery in Portamadoc, Caenarvonshire, Wales. He was the son of Walter O’Blenes of Moncton.
